About Artist -Yunha Park
Moving to Canada was a challenging journey. Adapting to a new environment was not easy, and I faced many struggles. However, through it all, my family and I found strength together. But the one thing that truly transformed my life was art.
One day, a woman in her seventies, living with dementia, gifted me a set of watercolor tools. She likely didn’t even remember giving them to me. But for me, that moment became a turning point—an invitation into the world of painting.
Not long after, I saw another elderly person deeply immersed in painting. Watching their brush move across the canvas, I felt something shift within me—a sense of healing, both mentally and emotionally. In their quiet concentration, I saw a reflection of my mother, who was far away. Whenever I thought of her, inspiration flowed through me, and my brush seemed to dance effortlessly.
These two elderly individuals became my greatest inspiration after coming to Canada. They gave me courage, a new purpose, and a second life through art. Now, I hope to share the healing power of painting with others, just as it was given to me.
